Frequently Asked Questions

What equipment is required for soccer?
All players must wear shin guards, covered completely by socks. Soccer cleats are recommended, but sneakers can be worn. A water bottle should be brought to every practice and game. A soccer ball, though not required, is helpful for practicing at home. We recommend shopping at Washingtonville Soccer Shop, Modell’s Sporting Goods and Dicks Sporting Goods.

Can players wear jewelry?
Jewelry or metal hair clips cannot be worn by any player while on the soccer fields. All earrings, necklaces, bracelets and metal hair clips MUST be removed for games and practice. Band-aids covering earrings is not acceptable.

When are practices held?
Recreation practices are held based on the coach’s availability, usually 1 night a week.

Travel practices are held 2-3 times a week.

Recreation games are held on Saturdays in the Fall anytime between 9-11:30 am. Spring games are held on Saturdays at 2 pm to not conflict with other spring sport schedules.
